How to Get Music & Photos On/Off of Droid

The Droid, a smartphone created by Motorola for the Verizon Wireless network, runs the Android mobile operating system. Android allows you to plug your smartphone in to your PC and drag-and-drop files back and forth, as opposed to using an intermediary application like the iPhone does with iTunes. This drag-and-drop process is what you will use to get music and photos off your Droid and on to your PC.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your Droid smartphone to your PC using the USB cable that came packaged with the device.

    • 2

Tap the "Turn on USB storage" button that appears on your Droid's screen, then tap "OK" to confirm that you want to turn USB storage on.

    • 3

Click the "Open folder to view files" option that appears in the "AutoPlay" box on your computer's screen.

    • 4

Open the Start menu and click "Computer," then navigate through your hard drive to the place you want to save your music and photos.

    • 5

Drag your music and photos from the "Removable Disk" window, which shows files on your Droid, to the "Computer" window you opened in Step 4. You've successfully transferred your music and photos from your Droid to your PC.
