      Log on to efax.com. Click on the "get started" tab in the upper left corner of the website to start your 30-day free trial period and set up your account.

      Type your ZIP code in the "Find Your Number" box and click "search" to find available eFax numbers in your local area. Click on the appropriate area code that matches your ZIP code and click "continue."

      Review the fax number choices displayed for your area code, and click the appropriate radio button to make your selection. The fax number you choose will be the one that you'll keep until you cancel your account.

      Register your account by typing your first and last name and email address in the next dialog box. Type your email address a second time to confirm it. Click on the customer agreement underlined in blue and read it thoroughly before agreeing to it. Click on the red button that says "you're almost finished."

      Enter your credit card number, type and verification number, billing address and a valid phone number to complete your billing information. A phone number is required as an eFax representative may contact you to confirm your account. Click on the "start faxing" button. The next screen will display your eFax number and your PIN number.

      Receive a welcome email with your eFax number and PIN number. Be sure to save this email for future reference. Use your eFax number and PIN to log on to your account. Send friends and family an email letting them know what your new eFax number is and start receiving faxes in your email.

  • Contact eFax customer service at (323) 817-3205 if you don't receive your account confirmation email.

  • After your 30-day trial ends, eFax will start billing your account at its regular monthly rate, but it'll waive your activation fee.
