How to Configure Active X

ActiveX, according to TechTarget, "is a set of object-oriented programming (OOP) technologies and tools that Microsoft developed for Internet Explorer to facilitate rich media playback." ActiveX is an important component in Microsoft's Internet Explorer, as it enables IE to properly "load other software applications in the browser." To ensure a smooth browsing experience, it is important to correctly configure ActiveX controls.

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer, go to "Tools," and then select "Internet Options" to begin ActiveX configuration.

2. Select the "Security" tab, and then click on the "Custom level" button to modify ActiveX settings. This will open a "Security settings" dialog box.

3. Scroll through the dialog box to find the "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" section, select the "Administrator approved" option under the "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" section, and then click on the "Ok" button.

4. Configure ActiveX controls for the remaining security zones in Internet Explorer. According to Microsoft, to do so, "repeat the last two steps until you have configured all the zones you want."
