How to Become a Head Hunter Recruiter

A Head Hunter Recruiter normally works for a third party recruiting agency. They are referred to as "head hunters" because they are hired to assist companies in finding the right talent for their open positions. Head hunter recruiters are usually experienced in sales, marketing, or telemarketing. There is a lot of telephones sales work required and the environment is normally very fast paced.

      Join a recruiting networking group. Most cities have a local human resources association. Register on appropriate Internet groups such as linkedin, Twitter, and My Space.

      Research credible recruiting firms that have longevity, stability and good reputation. Contact the hiring manager or owner of the firm and present your credentials.

      Hone your skills and knowledge in your industries of expertise. Study all of the latest laws, techniques, and other information to become a true subject matter expert. You will need this expertise to find and match talented candidates to job openings.

      Give yourself a personality "check up" as headhunters face rejection and disappointment on a daily basis. It takes a special person to handle the ups and downs of the recruiting business.
