How to Connect an LG DVD Player to an LG TV

LG Electronics manufactures several models of DVD players and flat-screen televisions for home theater. LG DVD players can be connected directly to LG TVs for a fast home-theater setup. The components connect using a single set of standard audio/video cables with color-coded plugs.

  • Composite AV cables

Instructions

      Unplug both components from the power supply.

      Insert the plugs on one end of the composite cables into the Video and Audio OUT jacks on the DVD player. The yellow plug connects to the Video OUT jack. White and red connect to the left and right Audio OUT jacks.

      Attach the other ends of the cables to the Video and Audio IN jacks on the back of the LG TV.

      Connect the power cords to a surge protector and plug the surge protector into a wall outlet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a home theater receiver between the DVD player and the LG television to enjoy Surround Sound audio with attached speakers. The AV connections are the same; only one extra set of AV cables will be needed.
