How to Create Index Cards in Word 2007

Many believe that the physical act of writing something down makes them more likely to remember it and get it done. Index cards are a valuable tool for personal organization, and are commonly used as a study aid as well. Microsoft Word 2007 allows you to make your own index cards using free templates provided online. Use Microsoft Word 2007 to make index cards and print them from your computer.

      Click the Microsoft Office jewel in the upper-left corner of the screen, then click "New." A window opens displaying a list of templates to be used for new documents.

      Scroll to the bottom of the window and click "More categories." The middle section of the window updates with a list of Word template categories.

      Click "Flash cards." The window updates with picture representations of the free templates that are available.

      Click a numbered template If you are using pre-cut Avery card stock and have the Avery product number on the back of the package. If you are using plain white paper or card stock, click the template that looks most attractive to you, and click the "Download" button. The template is downloaded from the Microsoft Office website. This may take a few minutes on slower Internet connections. The template opens in a new window when it is finished downloading.
