How to Send an Email to a Verizon Cell Phone Number

If you are not near a phone, but you are near a computer, you can still contact someone's cell phone by sending them a text message. This can be done through your email program. Verizon phone numbers can be sent an email that comes through as a text message. It is one of the simplest ways to communicate, and requires little more than your desired recipient's phone number.

• Number of desired recipient

Instructions

1. Go to your email program and compose your email.

2. Type the phone number that you wish to send your message to in the "To" section of your email heading. Do not use spaces or dashes.

3. Type "@vtext.com" immediately following the phone number.

4. Send your email.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep your email short. Verizon can only accept messages that are up to 160 characters, spaces included.

• Text messaging rates may apply to the recipient's phone.
