How to Save a Copy of a DVD to My Hard Drive
A DVD typically holds up to 4.7GB of data. Copying a DVD to a hard drive helps to protect valuable optical disks since they are prone to physical damage. To copy a disk properly you need to create a single binary disk image file. The image file contains an exact DVD copy sector by sector including system-specific information such as boot sectors or file attributes. The popular Nero software suite allows you to write a DVD image on the hard drive.
