How to Hard Boil an Egg Easily
Although hard-boiled eggs are high in saturated fat and cholesterol, they are good sources of protein, riboflavin and vitamin B12. Enjoy them occasionally as an easy snack or dress them up as deviled eggs. Alternatively, you can add them to soups or to your favorite salads. Good hard-boiled eggs have a yolk that is fully cooked and bright yellow in color. This method of hard-boiling an egg is extremely easy, requiring almost no effort. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill your pot with water. You should have just enough water to cover an egg completely.

Place your egg in the pot carefully so it doesn't crack when it hits the bottom. You can boil more than one egg at a time, but don't overcrowd the pot.

Turn the heat on high. When the water reaches a boil, turn off the heat. Place the lid on the pot, but leave the pot on the warm burner.

Let the pot sit on the warm burner for 20 minutes.

Remove the lid and place the pot in the sink. Run cold water over the egg for 5 minutes. This cold water stops the cooking process and keeps the yolk from turning an unsightly green color.

Tips & Warnings
Spin a cooled hard-boiled egg on the countertop to see if it's done. If the egg wobbles, it's not completely cooked.
To make your eggs easier to peel, run them under cold tap water and then refrigerate. Peel them once they've cooled completely.
