Instructions

    • 1

Gather different sizes of disposable foil pie pans. Deep-dish pie pans work best, but gather smaller ones that can fit inside of larger ones.

Using a permanent marker, draw a flower petal pattern along the edge of a pie pan. Cut along the permanent marker lines with scissors. This makes the edge of the pan wavy and decorative. Repeat with all of the pie pans.

    • 2

Paint the foil flower pie pans with stained glass paints. Paint the inside and the outside of the pie pans. Use quick strokes to avoid lumps of paint and to ensure a smooth finish. Let the pie pans dry thoroughly overnight.

    • 3

Place smaller pie pans in larger pie pans so it looks like a flower. Gently push a small nail or flat-top thumb tack through the center. Place the point of the nail or tack on the tip of a wooden dowel. Gently hammer into the dowel.

Alternatively, use epoxy glue to hold the pie pans together and the dowel on the bottom of the pie pans. Allow to dry.

    • 4

Push the dowels, or stakes, into the garden ground. Place a small handful of sand in the pie pan and a votive candle in the sand. Light and enjoy.
