How to Advertise My Avon Business

As an AVON representative, you help make your clients look and feel beautiful by selling them your products. You also make money from selling the products, giving you the extra income to have a financially stable lifestyle.

However, in order to sell the products, you must first find the clients to buy them. You may already have some clients but having more clients means you make more money. To find clients, advertise to your target market.

      Determine your target market. A target market is the group of people who are best suited for your products. Understanding your target market or markets will help you come up with an advertising plan to best reach those people. For this article, imagine that your target market is women ages 25-60.

      Brainstorm ways to reach your target market of women ages 25-60. As a whole, these women are generally financially secure, have families and enjoy activities such as shopping, travel, spending time with friends and family and dining out. Understanding the interests of your target market will help you reach them effectively. Ways to advertise to this target market include advertisement placement, email advertising and direct mail.

      Start your advertising plan. Start with advertisement placement. This includes creating some sort of print advertisement (a small one-page design, brochure or even a larger poster) and distributing it in various ways. For example, you could place a larger advertisement poster on the bulletin boards located at department stores, restaurants and salons that your target market frequents. Or you can ask to place brochures on the counters of beauty salons, spas and doctors' offices.

      Another way to use a print ad is to buy advertising space in a local newspaper or women's magazine. This will cost some money, so make sure you have money set aside for marketing before you pursue this. Otherwise, you'll be spending more than you're making. Also be sure to include a phone number or website address on your poster or brochure so those who are interested can contact you.

      Implement the next part of your advertising plan. Email marketing and direct mail are similar to cold-calling a potential client. Each of these methods requires you to design (or have someone else design) an advertisement appropriate for email or regular mail. After the ads are designed, then you'll need to purchase email addresses or mailing addresses of women who fit your target market. Once you have the lists, you can send your advertisement out. It's very important to note that these methods can be very expensive, depending on the size of the lists you buy. It might be worthwhile to start with a small list purchase through a reputable company to test this advertising method before committing to a larger one. Search online for "email marketing providers" or "direct mailing lists" to find these types of companies.

      Use your established clients for referrals. One of the most effective ways to advertise your AVON business is to have your current clients' help. Your current clients obviously like your products and service, otherwise they would go elsewhere to get their products.
