How to Repair a Motorcycle Tire Flat
While a flat tire on a car may be a hassle, a flat tire on a motorcycle is not only inconvenient, but it can also be dangerous given the type of road you are traveling on or the area in which the tire flattens. Pull off to the side of the road or highway immediately if you get a flat tire on your motorcycle. You can repair the tire yourself with some basic maintenance skills, the proper tools and a few motorcycle tire repair tips.

Remove the Tire

Loosen the nuts holding the wheel to the bike with a wrench and remove the wheel.

Unscrew the valve stem to let all the remaining air out of the tire.

Break the bead with a bead breaker (available at your automobile or motorcycle dealer) around the entire tire on both sides, being careful not to damage the wheel.

Slip the tire over the rim of the wheel with a tire iron.
Repair the Tire

Remove the nail, glass, rock or whatever caused the damage to your tire.

Scrape the inside of the rubber tire with the scraper from the flat repair kit (available at your automobile or motorcycle dealer). Scrape gently in the direction of the tread.

Apply glue from the flat repair kit onto the abrasion in the tire. Use the brush that comes with the kit to apply the glue over the entire damaged area.

Place the patch over the glue and rub the patch with the roller from the kit. Roll over the patch several times until it securely adheres to the tire.
Replace the Tire

Mount the tire back onto the rim. Use the tire iron to help stretch the tire over the rim and use the wrench to tighten the bolts.

Put the valve stem back in the valve.

Pump the tire full of air with an air pump.

Tips & Warnings
To make it easier to detect a small hole in the tire, place the tire in a tub of soapy water. The tire will bubble up around the area where the hole is.
Make sure you securely fasten the lug nuts, when replacing the tire, to avoid having the tire come off when you are riding the bike.
Screw the valve stem in tight so that air doesn't leak out.
