How to Burn Sega CD Games
The Sega CD is a console gaming classic. While it was not a major success for many reasons, it still has a small selection of games that gamers everywhere treasure greatly. Some of these games are worth quite a bit of money, while others only have personal worth. Either way, being a CD-based medium, you will want to take utmost care of the games you own, so that you do not cause them any harm or damage, accidentally or otherwise. Luckily, Fair Use policy is on your side, allowing for the creation of a backup for archival purposes.

1
Place your game into your CD drive.
-
2
Start the CD burning application that you normally use. On many systems, this is an OEM copy of Nero, but it may also be Roxio Easy CD Creator, BurnAware or another CD burning program.
-
-
3
Create a disc image of your game disc. You may use whatever format your software prefers, or you can use an ISO format, if allowed. Creation of a disc image should only take a few minutes on a current generation CD drive.
-
4
Place the blank media into the drive when the game image is completed.
Select the option to burn a disc from a disc image. Be sure to set the option to close the disc, and for compatibility reasons, set your burning speed no higher than 4X. This part of the process will take about 15 minutes, due to the need for the slower burning speed.

5
Remove the game copy and label it. You now may put your Sega CD game away in its case and use your archival copy for play.
