Removing and replacing the dash lights in your Dodge Ram will improve visibility of your gauges when you are driving at night. The dash lights and the light colors of the gauges will make your cluster light up and help improve overall safety of your truck.

Removing the Dash Light

Step 1

Pull the decorative trim off around the gauge cluster. This will pop out with your fingers. Place it to the side and out of the way.

Step 2

Locate the screws holding the gauge cluster in. They will be toward the top of the gauge assembly. Remove these screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 3

Slowly pull the gauge cluster out. Use caution, as it is held in by wires.

Step 4

Follow the wires going in to the gauge assembly. There will be a single wire going in at three different places.

Step 5

Determine which light needs to be replaced and identify the wire connected to it.

Step 6

Twist the single-wire harness counterclockwise and pull straight out. The harness will come out smoothly.

Step 7

Twist the bulb and pull straight out. Dispose of the bulb.
