How to Vacuum Out an Inground Swimming Pool
At least once a week, you will need to vacuum an in-ground pool. Debris and dirt from the bottom of feet will make its way into the pool, which must be removed to keep the water clean. If the debris is left in the water, it can cause an upset with the chemical balance and algae and bacteria can grow. Vacuuming out an in-ground pool will take about an hour to complete when it is done correctly. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1
Use the pool net to remove any floating debris. Use the pool brush to wipe down the pool steps and the sides of the pool. Turn the pump lever to "Filter."
-
2
Attach the hose to the vacuum head. There are connectors on the vacuum head that allow you to push the hose on and it locks in place.
-
-
3
Place the extension pole in the vacuum head connection slot. Put the vacuum head in the water, flat on the bottom of the pool.
-
4
Walk the other end of the hose over to the skimmer basket. Remove the cover from the skimmer.
-
5
Place the skimmer plate on the end of the hose. Submerge the skimmer plate and the end of the hose in the water. Allow the hose to fill with water. This will prevent air pockets when vacuuming. After the hose is filled with water, cover the end with your hand and quickly place the skimmer plate and hose on top of the skimmer basket.
-
6
Guide the vacuum head along the bottom of the pool. Move slowly so that the vacuum has time to suck up all of the debris. Start in the shallow end and work your way to the deep end.
-
7
Complete the job, then remove the skimmer plate from the skimmer basket and clean out the basket. Turn the pump lever back to "Auto."
