Instructions

    • 1

Dab a glob of toothpaste directly on the stain. Rub vigorously with a rag. The stain should just wipe away. Wipe off any lingering residue of toothpaste with a slightly damp rag.

    • 2

Spray bug spray directly on the stain. Wipe away with a clean rag. The bug spray should dissolve the ink completely.

    • 3

Soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover. Apply directly to the marker stain, rubbing vigorously. The nail polish remover should absorb all the ink from the stain.

    • 4

Take an eraser and rub the stain in the manner you would if you were trying to erase a mistake on a piece of paper. The stain should just rub off. This will, however, dull a shiny wood table so you might want to consider apply a little bit of wood polish afterwards.

Tips & Warnings

  • In Step 3, rubbing alcohol can be substituted for nail polish remover.

  • Test all remedies on an inconspicuous spot on the wood furniture.
