The Cricut Expression is the largest of the Cricut die cut machines. If you need to erase the settings on your machine, the Reset All button will return all settings to the defaults set at the factory. If your Cricut Expressions is still acting up, Cricut suggests several steps you can use to reset the machine, similar to the reboot of a computer. Over the course of this process, your machine will need to be plugged in and turned on, so move slowly and carefully to protect yourself and the machine.
Step 1
Turn on the machine, with no cartridge installed. Roll the Speed, Size and Pressure dials all the way down to the lowest possible setting on each.

Grab the blade assembly with two fingers and pull the carriage gently all the way to the left. Behind where the carriage usually sits is a red button. Press and hold the button for three to five seconds and release.
Step 3
Go back to the three dials marked Speed, Size and Pressure, and roll each one all the way up and down three or four times.
Step 4
Press the Cut button, then turn off the machine. Let the machine sit for 15 to 20 minutes to clear the memory.
Step 5
Load a cartridge, turn the machine back on and try it out. If you are still experiencing problems, you may have a defective machine. Return it to the manufacturer with the original receipt.
