  1. How to Embed MSN Virtual Earth Maps

    • 1

Visit Bing.com. MSN's search, and many of the site's other functions, are now tied to Bing. Before you can embed virtual earth maps, you'll need to first access them through this search engine.

    • 2

Click on the "maps" link on the page. You'll find the feature on the left-hand side of the Bing homepage, near the bottom of the menu. This will take you immediately to the Maps page, also known as MSN virtual earth.

    • 3

Use the map system normally, looking up locations for whatever you need. You can access MSN Virtual Earth maps from a standard computer or your mobile device. The page is set up to automatically offer directions, but if you'd like to do more with your maps click the "Try it Now" button to access the beta version. Once you've found a map you want to save, you can embed it to your own Web pages for easy access.

    • 4

Click on the toolbar on the bottom left side of the page. Here, you'll see a row of icons. By clicking the third picture (an envelope), you'll open a pop-up that offers an embed code so you can include your map to your own Web pages. Highlight the code by clicking your left mouse button. Right-click the highlighted text, and a menu will appear. Select "copy" to do just that, copying the embed code straight to your clipboard.

    • 5

Paste the code into your html editor. Log into your website editor, access the page where you want to embed your MSN virtual earth map and copy the code straight into the editor. After you've saved your changes, your map should be visible right on your Web page.

Tips & Warnings

  • Preview your Web pages before leaving your html editor, to be certain that your MSN virtual earth maps are getting embedded in the correct position on the page.
