Instructions

    • 1

Mount garden mirrors on walls, trellises or sheds to provide the illusion of additional space. Use mirrors in various sizes and shapes.

    • 2

Prop mirrors against rocks or other garden decor to reflect light and pathways. Fountains are another good area in which to use mirrors to reflect motion.

    • 3

Mount mirrors on garden gates or fence posts to reflect color, light and nature. Avoid swinging gates when using mirrors made of breakable materials.

    • 4

Position a large mirror at the end of a path to create a walk-through illusion. The path should appear slightly narrower the closer it gets to the mirror.

    • 5

Use plants such as ivy or clematis around the edges of the mirror to hide the mirror's edges.

    • 6

Reflect or increase sunlight by propping up or mounting mirrors in areas that do not receive direct sunlight.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mirrors should be positioned so that a person's reflection is not immediately in view. Mirrors should be angled slightly downward and to one side.
