Open your Internet browser and access Craigslist. In the homepage for Craigslist, navigate to your location.

Select the option that best applies to your website. Craigslist city pages are broken into various groupings: community, housing, jobs, etc. Find the section that best applies to the reason you are posting your website.

Click the "Post" option in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. It should be located next to an option titled "Help." Clicking "Post" will open up the submission form for you to fill out.

Follow the prompts to get to the submission form and fill it out. Keep it short and to the point. People don't come to Craigslist for long postings. They want snappy wording and to be able to get the gist at a glance. Tell them why your website is beneficial to them, why they should click the link and what they can expect to get out of it.

Post the ad. You can either post as a registered user or as a guest. Posts from registered users carry more legitimacy and are regarded as being more trustworthy than guest posts. Since you're asking people to click a strange link and registration is free, it makes sense to register.

Don't spam the site by creating postings in the wrong category or posting a website just for the free advertising it gives you. Make sure you are offering something to the Cragslist community that requires you to post your website. If you don't have a legitimate need to post your website, then don't do it. People will get turned off and flag you for others to know to avoid you.
