How to Use Ceramic Spiral Irons
Ceramic spiral irons create springy, spiraling curls out of even the straightest hair. Ceramic curling irons provide even, consistent heat, which is less damaging to the hair because the curling iron does not create hot spots in the hair while curling. Curling all of your hair in spiral curls is a time commitment, but once you go through the process a few times, you will be surprised at how much quicker the job becomes. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Start with clean, dry hair. Wash and condition your hair. Squeeze the excess moisture from your hair with a towel and blow-dry. Remove any tangles with a wide-tooth comb.
-
2
Apply a curl-enhancing styling product. Styling gel or mousse helps your hair hold the style. Squeeze into the palm of your hand and work through the hair from roots to ends.

-
3
Separate the hair into sections with clips. Take one large section at the crown and clip it out of the way. Clip sections out of the way on either side of the head.
-
4
Start at the back, close to the neck. Curl the bottom layer of the hair first, moving up and toward the front of the head.
-
5
Position the curling iron so that it is parallel to your head. Take a one-inch section of hair and place it in the spiral iron. Wrap the iron toward the scalp, holding the curling iron parallel to the head. This is what creates the spiral curls. Hold the section in place until the hair is warm, about 30 seconds. Release the hair from the curling iron.
-
6
Allow the curls to cool before touching them. Don't handle the curl at all, simply pick up another section of hair and continue. Touching the hair while it is still warm pulls the curl out of the hair.

7
Finish with a light coat of hair spray. After all of your hair is curled, style it gently with your fingers and finish with a spritz of hair spray. Do not use a brush or comb on your hair, this will pull the curl out or create frizz. Too much hair spray will create the appearance of a helmet. You only want enough spray to set the curls, not so much that you hair doesn't move.
