How to Make a Pickling Liquid for My Boiled Eggs
Pickled eggs are hard boiled eggs that have been left inside of a liquid. The main ingredient in the pickled egg juice is vinegar. There are many different varieties of pickled eggs because individuals can choose to use the spices they enjoy the most. Pickled eggs make for a great snack, or a topping on a salad. Things You'll Need
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. dill weed
- 3 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Place the water, vinegar, dill weed, salt, mustard powder and garlic powder in a medium sized pot. Bring these ingredients to a boil.

Lower your heat setting to simmer and cook the juice another five minutes.

Remove the pickling juice from the heat.

Place your hard boiled eggs in a sterilized jar and then pour your pickling juice over top of them. Do this while the liquid is still hot.

Screw the lid on the jar and set it in the refrigerator right away. The eggs will be preserved for up to 7 days.

Tips & Warnings
Substitute the spices above with spices that you enjoy. You could also substitute the water for apple juice, beet juice, or pineapple juice. The main ingredient, vinegar, should stay the same no matter what other ingredients you change.
According to the CDC, pickled eggs stored at room temperature can cause botulism. Always keep your pickled eggs in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.
