How to Export a Message From Outlook Express to Outlook 2007
Microsoft Outlook Express saves email messages in an EML format, like many email applications such as Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird and Gmail. Outlook 2007 contains conversion utilities and plug-ins that will automatically import EML files into the Inbox without using the "Import-Export" tool. Individual emails can be added to the Outlook folders, and entire Outlook Express mailboxes can be imported into Outlook 2007 for a smooth transition to an integrated communications center. Outlook 2007 assimilates imported Outlook Express emails as part of the user's Personal File Folder.

Launch Outlook Express and select the desired email message from the "Inbox" directory.

Press and hold the mouse button and drag the selected email message to the desktop.

Launch Outlook 2007 and click the "Mail" module to display the "Inbox" directory.

Switch to the desktop and select the email message Saved in step 2.

Press and hold the mouse button and drag the email message to the Outlook 2007 application. If the Outlook 2007 window is minimized, drag the file to the bottom taskbar and over the tab for the Outlook 2007 application. The Outlook 2007 window will maximize and the file can be dropped into the "Inbox" directory by releasing the mouse button.

Check that the email message appears on the list of email messages in the Inbox.

Tips & Warnings
Resize the window for Outlook 2007 to be smaller than the default size so that you can quickly access the desktop and the application window without minimizing either view.
Export multiple messages using the process outlined in Steps 1 and 2 and place these messages in a folder for easy access.
Select multiple email messages by pressing and holding the "Control" key while clicking the mouse button to select the files. Release the "Control" key while pressing down the mouse button to drag the set of files to the Outlook 2007 inbox.
Consider following a similar process to drag and drop individual contacts from the address book to the Outlook 2007 contact list.
