How to Clean Hooked Rugs
Hooked rugs have been around for a long time, and older ones need to be treated with care. It's probably not wise to take your hooked rugs to a dry cleaner, unless you verify beforehand that they have the ability to clean a hooked rug properly. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn the rug upside down to let any dirt or sand fall out. Do not beat on the rug.

Vacuum the rug gently with the upholstery attachment. Be careful not to use too much force.

Mix a capful of Woolite with some warm water. Gently scrub the rug with the baby brush, using only the suds of the Woolite.

Lay the rug out on the sheet outside to dry and air out.
