  • Baked and cooled cake
  • Serving platter
  • 1 tub icing (any flavor)
  • Spatula
  • 16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil or shortening
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 lb. long-stemmed strawberries
  • Paper towels
  • Wax paper-lined baking sheet

      Set the cake onto a serving platter.

      Spread a layer of icing with the spatula over the top and sides of the cake to completely cover.

      Pour the chocolate chips and vegetable oil or shortening into a microwave-safe bowl.

      Heat on high power for one minute.

      Remove from the microwave and stir the chocolate. Place back into the microwave for another 30 seconds.
