How to Transfer Windows Photo Gallery Files to Adobe Photo Files
The Windows Photo Gallery photos can be assigned new file extensions in Adobe software programs. Converting images to Adobe photo files on your PC increases the security of the published image. Image file extensions that are not recognized by all programs can be saved as .jpg with Adobe software. A JPEG image file is recognized by most web programs.

Organize your Adobe photos into a separate folder by date, or by subject matter. Save the larger, original camera photos. Save your photo edits under a new filename. This allows you to return to the original image. The image editing capacity of Photoshop is greater than that in your Windows Photo Gallery.
Edit the photo to the proper size by scrolling to the IMAGE tab and highlighting "image size". Photoshop also allows you to adjust colors, change brightness or contrast, and manipulate your image with layers. Your Adobe photo file can be emailed, or published to your website after editing.

4
Save each edited photo to the desktop. Remember your photo location. Adobe photos can be saved as a number of different file types, such as .tiff, .pbm, .psd, or .jpg. Prevent others from altering the image, or re-using your photo for commercial interests in Adobe Acrobat. The Adobe Acrobat program can save your photo files as a PDF, without editing in Photoshop.
