How to Cook S'mores in a Solar Oven

Making a solar oven is a fun science project and allows you to make several kinds of treats using heat harnessed from the sun. S'mores are a camping tradition and a delicious dessert that are easy to make using your homemade solar oven.

Things You'll Need

• Solar oven
• Graham crackers
• Chocolate bars
• Marshmallows
• Metal tray or tinfoil
• Oven mitt

Instructions

1. Put the graham crackers on a metal tray, piece of aluminum foil or black construction paper that will fit in your solar oven.

2. Place a piece of chocolate and then several marshmallows on top of the graham cracker.

3. Set your tray with the s'more on top into your solar oven. The oven should be outside in a sunny spot.

4. Keep an eye on your s'mores. They are done when the chocolate begins to melt.

5. Remove s'more tray from the solar oven using an oven mitt or hand towel. Let it cool for a minute or two before eating.
