How to Get Rid of Yellow Cat Vomit Strains on a Carpet

While cat owners love their furry, feline family members, one of the things they may have to contend with is cleaning vomit stains from their carpet. Depending on the type of food the cat is eating, the color of the vomit stain may vary; however, most stains are the color of bile---yellow or pale green. With some time, effort and a few household items, you can remove cat vomit stains and their odor from your carpet.

Things You'll Need

• Old towels
• Baking soda
• Club soda
• Rubber gloves
• Spoon or paper towels
• Vacuum

Instructions

1. Put on rubber gloves.

2. Scoop excess vomit from carpet with spoon or paper towels.

3. Pour club soda on stain. Let sit for 10 minutes. Club soda removes stains and eliminates odors.

4. Blot liquid with towel to absorb.

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4. Proceed to Step 6.

6. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on stain. Baking soda will also eliminate vomit odor.

7. Let baking soda sit until stain is dry.

8. Vacuum area clean.
