Log on to the Internet on your computer and go to http://www.ipoddatarecovery.net. You need to download the Stellar Phoenix recovery program from this site.

Click the "Free Download" tab and choose "Mac" or "PC," depending on the computer you're using. The Stellar Phoenix program should begin downloading. Wait for it to finish.

Plug your iPod into your computer using the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port and open the "Stellar Phoenix" icon on your computer's desktop. The Stellar Phoenix program should recognize your iPod.

Click one of the three data recovery settings: Standard Scan recovery (faster recovery of all files in your library), Advance Scan recovery (for files with greater damage) or Raw File Scan recovery (restores completely deleted files).

Wait for the program to run its course. Depending on the extent of the damage, it could take anywhere from minutes to hours. After the program has finished running, your iTunes library should be completely restored. Since your iPod is synced to your computer, the media library on your iPod will transfer to the iTunes program on your computer. Your iTunes library will now be available both on your iPod and your computer.
