How to Work For Google
Google is anything but normal. Their focus on innovation and creativity means that not everyone fits into what they are looking for. Google looks to hire exceptional people that have great experience and creative ability. Education is also a plus. Before you apply to work at Google you should make sure there is something about you that separates you from the competition. You will need an edge against the other applicants to be considered for a job at Google.

Decide why you want to work for Google. Is it just because Google is "Google" and you think it would be fun to work there or is there a better reason for seeking their employment.

Browse their locations. Make sure there is an office location near where you live. Unless you are willing to relocate you may find that it's not possible to work for Google because you live to far away from any of their offices.

Search for job openings. Go to http://www.google.com/intl/en/jobs/ and search for a keyword in the search box (Upper right).

Apply to Google by submitting your resume.

If you are one of the fortunate applicants you will be called for an interview. There are a series of interviews that you must go through. The first is a phone interview. The second interview is in person. During the second interview you will be talking and meeting with several people that will evaluate your skills and ask you to solve problems in real time.

After the interview process is complete Google will decide if you are the right person for the job. Your Google assigned recruiter will be in touch with you let you know what they have decided.
