How to Turn Off Data on a Blackjack Phone

The Blackjack Smartphone is a powerful and versatile business device. It has the ability to connect to the internet and allow you to surf the web and check your email. However, if you do not subscribe to your cell phone provider's unlimited data plan, there is per-kilobyte charge for data usage which can add up very quickly. To protect yourself from unintentional charges on your cell phone bill, it may be wise to disable your Blackjack's ability to transmit data over the internet.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Start" soft key to open your Blackjack's Program Group. Scroll down and select the "Settings" icon to open your phone's main settings menu.

    • 2

Scroll to the bottom of the first screen and choose "More" to bring up the next page of settings options.

    • 3

Highlight and select "Connections" to open the settings menu related to your Blackjack's internet connectivity options.

    • 4

Highlight and select "Wireless Manager" to open your Blackjack's wireless connection options.

    • 5

Highlight "Phone" and press the "Menu" soft key to view the options associated with your phone's wireless internet connectivity.

    • 6

Scroll to the top of the options list and choose "Disconnect Cellular Data" to prevent your Blackjack from connecting to the internet.

Tips & Warnings

  • By preventing your Blackjack from connecting to the internet, you will no longer receive any regularly scheduled email updates, nor will you be able to send any emails, until you restore data connectivity. If your Blackjack is connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server, your Smartphone will not be able to stay synchronized with the server.
