How to Curl Hair With a Chi

A Chi flat iron uses ionic technology on your hair to make it shiny by infusing heat from the inside out. The main use for the device is to straighten and gloss curly, kinky or dry hair. A Chi can also be used to add curls to your hair if you know how to use it in that manner. From a slight curl to long, flowing waves, a Chi flat iron can be used to achieve these looks. Instructions

    • 1

Shampoo and condition the hair. For better and lasting curls, you need to start off with clean hair. Use the shampoo and conditioner as you usually do.

    • 2

Blow dry your hair. First spray your hair with the heat protectant spray to give your hair a shine and protect it from the heated tools. Work the product through your hair with your fingers or a comb to distribute it evenly. Hold the paddle brush in one hand and the blow dryer in the other to dry your hair. The paddle brush will work out the kinks while the brow dryer is drying it. Continue to work the paddle brush and blow dryer until the hair is completely dry. Plug in the Chi while you are doing this so that it can heat up.

    • 3

Section your hair into four sections. It is easier to work in sections. Hold your hair in place with a clip.

    • 4

Squeeze a quarter-sized amount of the Chi Transformation Silk Fusion in the palm of your hand. Rub your palms together to get the product all over the insides of your hands. Rub your hands through one section of your hair to distribute the product from root to ends.

    • 5

Part off a one-inch section of hair (working with one of the four main sections at a time) and hold the round brush underneath it with one hand. Hold the Chi iron in the other hand and place it on your hair close to the tips. As you pull the brush through your hair, pull the flat iron down. Turn your wrist to curl the flat iron under as you pull it through the hair. Repeat this process on the same portion of hair if the first time didn't curl your hair as much as you wanted it to. Continue this step on the rest of the hair in the section.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 on the other sections of your hair. You can use the paddle brush or comb to style the curls the way that you want them.
