1
Wash and dry jar and jar lid. Make sure to check under the lip of the jar for stuck food particles and remove any protective materials in the lid.
-
2
Decide on arrangement and attach decorations to inside jar lid. Place a small piece of florist clay on the lid and attach figurine. Depending on the size of the jar you can use or several figures and place them however you like. To make an item appear taller just use a little more clay and build a pedestal or set another, smaller jar lid on top of the screwing lid and set in place with florist clay.

3
Add distilled water to jar to within 1/2-inch of the top. Add glitter, fake snow or a little of both, screw the lid on the jar and test to see if you added enough. Keep adding until you are happy with the results.
-
4
Run a thin line of hot glue around the inside edge of the jar lid. Screw the lid on the jar, making sure the seal is very tight to prevent leaking. Run another thin line of hot glue around the outside seal of the jar and let dry overnight.
-
5
Decorate the lid area of the jar with ribbon or fabric tied in a bow. Another idea is to place your snow globe on a pedestal. Decorate the pedestal with ribbon and glitter and then either attach the jar to the pedestal with hot glue or just set it on.

Tips & Warnings
Any plastic food jar will work, or you can purchase a snow globe kit on-line or at a craft store. If you do not have distilled water, boil and cool regular tap water. Add three to four drops of glycerin to the water to help the "snow" fall more slowly.
Be sure to allow enough time for the florist clay to harden so your figurine arrangement will not come loose in the jar.
