Download a thank you card template from a site such as HomeLifeWeekly.com. Find a link to HomeLifeWeekly.com's templates in the references section below. Click the download link below each image to download that template.

Add in the content for your thank you card. For the most part, a simple "Thanks!" simply won't do. To truly express your gratitude, mention the gift or act of kindness specifically, then add a few notes about why you're thankful for the gift.

Choose sturdy paper. If you choose regular white computer paper, your thank you card will be flimsy and won't be able to stand up on its own should your recipient choose to display it on their mantel.

Don't forget the envelope. Purchase stock envelopes to fit your thank you cards if you want. An alternative is to make your own envelopes.

Avoid the risk of wasting your more expensive card stock paper by printing a test run on regular computer paper to make sure the card appears how you want it to.

Place the card stock paper in your printer and print away once your card is set up the way you like it.
