1
Remove the label from the jean jacket. This will ensure that the label will not be faded when you bleach the jacket.
-
2
Place some newspaper or plastic on the surface you will be working on, because bleach will cause stains.
-
-
3
Fill two large plastic buckets 3/4 full with water.
-
4
Add one cup of bleach to the first bucket.
-
5
Lay the jacket flat on the newspaper or plastic. For an even bleach, submerge the jacket in the bucket with bleach and let it sit for five minutes. Make sure the entire jacket is fully covered with the bleach solution. For decorative bleaching, use a toothbrush, sponge, and paintbrush as your bleaching tools and create your desired design. To spot-bleach, wet one of your tools in the bleach bucket and dab the jacket with the tool. Whichever method you are using, leave the bleach on for no more than five minutes.

After bleaching with your chosen method, rinse the jacket thoroughly in the bucket of fresh water.
