Instructions

    • 1

Use your word processing program to type out the phrasing that you want to appear on the front of your card. The most common word processing software is Microsoft Word, but you can use Notepad, Word Pad or any "typing" program on your computer. If you want to use handwriting or calligraphy, place the message directly onto a sheet of copy paper.

    • 2

Type out or hand-write the message that you want to appear inside the card. Do not worry about the placement of the phrases on the page as you will be cutting them out. Include important information that guests will need to know (date, time, occasion, RSVP information, directions).

    • 3

Run a spell-check function in your word processing program, or read over the phrases and edit them yourself to avoid the embarrassment of misspelled words on your sample.

    • 4

Print the document onto your copy paper and cut out each phrase.

    • 5

Fold your card stock, if it is not already folded, in half at the longest edge. Place it on a flat surface in front of you as a card would read.

    • 6

Place your phrases where you would like them to go and move them around until you are satisfied.

    • 7

Glue the phrases in place with a glue-stick and smooth them into place so that they are completely flat with no creases or bubbles.

    • 8

Add embellishments such as stickers, pressed flowers or any other decorative items you choose until you are happy with the design.
