How to Make Pine Needle and Witch Hazel Skin Toner

Pine needle and witch hazel skin toner is a simple, natural skin toner that will help improve circulation and give the skin a warm, soft glow. Especially during the cold fall and winter months, pine needle and witch hazel skin toner will also provide essential moisture that the skin needs. Make sure to use fresh pine needles that have not been treated with pesticides when making this skin toner.   • 1 cup fresh pine needles
  • 1 cup distilled water
  • ¼ cup witch hazel
  • Glass stirrer
  • Sterilized glass bottle with lid or plastic squeeze bottle

Instructions

      Place the pine needles in a medium saucepan and pour enough water over the top to cover. Bring the water to a boil and remove the saucepan from the heat.

      Let the saucepan sit until the water and pine needles cool completely. Strain the pine needles in a colander, reserving the liquid in another saucepan. Discard the used pine needles.

      Add the witch hazel to the reserved water and stir with a glass stirrer.

      Transfer the pine needle and witch hazel skin toner to a sterilized glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid or plastic squeeze bottle.

Tips & Warnings

  • To use, put some of the skin toner on a cotton ball and apply to the skin. Let the skin absorb the moisture naturally without wiping off the excess. There is no need to rinse the skin after applying the toner.

  • Avoid mixing or storing any type of homemade skin care products in an aluminum container, as there is serious concern about heavy metals entering the bloodstream through the pores.
