How to Make Marble Push Pins
You may use push pins to hang memos on the bulletin board in your office, reminders on the message board in your kitchen, or posters on your teen's bedroom wall. You can liven up that cork board or make a cute gift for a coworker or your favorite young adult by making decorative marble push pins. Since you choose the background for each pin, you can make a set that is truly customized.

1
Lay a piece of fabric or paper on a flat, clean surface. Place a marble, flat side down, onto the paper. Move the marble around until you find a design or picture that you like.
-
2
Trace the marble onto the paper around the design or picture you selected. Cut out the circle carefully.

3
Apply a drop of glue to the center of the flat side of the marble. Spread the glue across the entire surface using a toothpick. Make sure you use the marble with which you measured the paper, as marble sizes and shapes may vary. Press the paper circle, face down, onto the marble, centering it as well as you can.

Check the marble from various angles to make sure the glue has spread all the way to the edges and that there are no apparent air bubbles. Lift and reapply or add more adhesive if necessary. Allow the glue to dry for at least an hour. If possible, leave it to dry until the next day.

5
Apply a drop of glue to the head of a metal thumb tack. Spread the glue across the entire head of the tack using a toothpick. Press the flat side of the marble onto the thumb tack, centering it as well as you can. Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 hours or longer.

Tips & Warnings
You may want to invest in a 1/2" or 3/4" craft hole punch to cut out the designs or pictures instead of cutting with scissors. The images will be perfectly circular and you will save time as well.
If your paper is particularly thin, glue a circle of plain white paper or card stock to the back of the paper circle prior to gluing it to the marble.
