1
Wear your boots for a short while every day for a few days to a week. Wear them inside your house at first so you can return the boots if necessary, then start wearing them for longer periods outside when you're certain you want to keep them.
-
2
Use lukewarm water to soak your boots.
-
-
3
Protect your feet from the wet boots with moleskin or bandages to prevent blisters, then put on dry socks and the wet boots.
-
4
Walk around and keep the boots on until they are completely dry. Let the boots air-dry; don't use an artificial heat source to accelerate the drying, as this will damage the leather.
-
5
Apply a leather conditioner to the boots every day immediately after you wear them. Choose a conditioner appropriate to your boots' finish, whether smooth leather or suede, and apply it liberally with a clean, dry cloth.
