Within its first year, my Mac Mini did run so quiet I had to check the tiny white light (located in front on the lower right bottom) more than once just to make sure it was powered on. However, over the last months the case has become increasingly hot to the touch, even with the fan spinning at 4500rpm - which means it run almost as noisy as a windows PC. Today I checked the bottom of the case and was shocked to discover dust blocking all of them little venting holes. Even using plyers did not help to eliminate all that lint. Gotta use a vacuum cleaner in the morning. Don't believe anyone telling you that Macs don't need dust removal ever so often!
