How to Clean Pen Ink From Inside a Dryer

If you get ink stains inside the drum of your clothes dryer, many home remedies are recommended to remove the stains. Most of the ingredients are common household items. If home remedies fail, there are other products that can be tried. They are more costly, but not as costly as replacing clothes.

Things You'll Need

• Nail Polish
• Hair Spray
• WD40
• Water
• Soap
• Simple Green

Instructions

1. Try clear nail polish. Heat your dryer for a few minutes to warm the drum. Coat the ink spot with the nail polish. Rub out the ink spot with a sponge or non-abrasive scrub pad. Rinse the area thoroughly with warm soap and water and wipe with a clean, damp cloth. If this doesn't work, try Step 2.

2. Try vegetable shortening. Heat your dryer for a few minutes. Rub shortening on the ink stain and wait a few minutes. Rub off the shortening with a paper towel, wiping up all the ink. Rinse the area thoroughly with warm soap and water and wipe with a damp cloth.

3. Try WD40. Spray lightly on the ink stains and rub with a cloth. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

4. Try Simple Green. Rub with a clean cloth, then rinse thoroughly with soap and water. Wipe with a clean, damp cloth.

5. Try hair spray. Coat the stained area and wipe with a clean cloth. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and soap, and wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
