How to Paint a Genesis Bow

Instructions

    • 1

Place several paper bags on a table to protect it, and then place the bow on the bags. You will be using spray paint, so make sure you are working in a well-ventilated area or outdoors.

    • 2

Prepare your Genesis Bow for painting. Cover the Genesis cam and the idler wheel. The Genesis cam is the wheel-shaped object at the top of the bow, and the idler wheel is the wheel at the bottom of the bow. These two objects hold the bow strings in place. Cover the Genesis cam and idler wheel and the three black areas on the body of the bow (the places where you normally hold the bow) with painter's tape. Make sure all of these areas are covered completely.

    • 3

Spray a thin layer of paint on the bow. Wait 20 minutes, then spray another thin coat of paint. Allow the first side of the bow to dry for 24 hours.

    • 4

Apply a thin layer of spray paint on the other side of the genesis bow. Wait 20 minutes before applying a second coat of paint. Allow the second side to dry for 24 hours.

    • 5

Remove the painter's tape. Both sides should be completely dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Painter's tape is the blue tape that can be found at your local hardware or paint store. It can be removed safely after painting.

  • Wear gloves and a face mask while using spray paint.

  • If you apply a thick amount of paint instead of two thin layers, the paint will clump on the bow.
