How to Pass the U.S. Citizen Test
The law specifies two ways in which a person can become a citizen of the United States: you are either born in the United States or if you are not born in the United States you must be naturalized as an United States citizen. Before you become naturalized you must take and pass a test. This test is administered orally in English by a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) official and is composed of ten questions taken from a pool of one hundred possible questions. The test tests you on your knowledge of U.S. history and government. You must answer at least six of the ten questions correctly in order to pass the test.

Satisfy the necessary requirements to take the test. As of December 2009, the USCIS requires that you have submitted an application for citizenship. If you are over 18 years of age you must submit the N-400 form. Submit form N-600 if you are 18 and under or form N-643 if you are an adopted child. You must supply two professional photographs taken of yourself, and mail these and any other documents requested to the USCIS address listed on the application.
