How to Split a Large MP3 File

Splitting a large MP3 file requires software able to play back an MP3. iTunes, free for download from Apple.com, is a standard MP3 player for both PC and Mac users. iTunes allows clients to split or cut portions of audio; this comes in handy for creating a cell phone ringtone from an MP3 audio file. Other reasons for splitting an MP3 file may be that the file is too large to fit on one audio CD.
