How to Uninstall Spybot

Spybot is a free anti-malware application for the Windows operating system that automatically removes adware and spyware from a PC. Because the software takes up resources on the computer, you may decide to remove Spybot from your PC after using it to delete any malicious applications hidden on your computer.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." In the Control Panel, double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.

2. Scroll down to the icon labeled "Spybot - Search & Destroy X.X." The programs are listed alphabetically. The "X.X" represents the version of Spybot installed on your computer.

3. Click the "Change/Remove" button next to the software icon. In Windows Vista, the button is at the top of the toolbar labeled "Uninstall."

4. Click the "Yes" button at the confirmation screen that asks if you're sure you want to remove the software. Clicking "No" cancels the uninstall process.

5. Reboot the computer after you remove the software. After you finish the uninstall process, Spybot will be uninstalled from your computer.

Tips & Warnings

• In Windows Vista, the "Add/Remove Programs" icon is labeled "Programs and Features."
