How to Clean a Blu-ray DVD Player Head
The Blu-ray standard is the highest commercially available grade of optical media and delivers unparalleled picture quality. The technology also powers the lens of Sony's PlayStation 3 game console. However just like any other optical media, Blu-ray players benefit from cleaning. The lenses are hyper-sensitive tools whose performance can be affected by dust and grime. If you notice reduced performance in your Blu-ray player, it may be time to clean the lens.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a Blu-ray cleaning disc, you can purchase one online. An example of one such disc can be found in the Resources section.
It is important to only use a Blu-ray cleaning disc in a Blu-ray player or PlayStation 3. The lens units of Blu-ray players are much more sensitive than CD or DVD heads and should not be cleaned by brushes or chemicals such as those used in CD and DVD cleaning discs.
