How to Fold Knitted Scarves
-
1
Take the ends of the scarf and bring them together. Make sure you match the corners evenly.
-
2
Fold it over once more. You may need to do this once more, depending on how long it is.
-
-
3
Place the scarf in the dresser drawer so it can lay flat. Make sure you have enough space to look through the scarves above and below it without scrunching them up.
-
4
Place a heavier items on the scarf such as a journal. The weight of the journal will keep the scarf edges from rolling up. Knitted scarves won't develop crease lines very easily, so you won't need to worry about the weight creating lines in them.
How to Fold Fabric Scarves
-
5
Buy scented tissue paper from a fabric store.
-
6
Place a layer of tissue paper over the scarf before you fold it. This will help keep the scarf from moving out of place while being stored and give a bit of padding to help prevent creasing.
-
7
Fold the bottom edge of the scarf up, matching its line to the top. Make sure you are keeping the tissue paper lined with the scarf as you fold it. Repeat folds until the scarf is the size you wish it to be for storage. If you can use fewer folds, you will be able to maintain the shape and condition of your scarves better.
-
8
Place scarves over each other but don't compact them down or place anything heavy over them. This will create more fold marks and creases that will require ironing.
