Your first choice is to sign up to student credit cards, their are many choices out there, check out your college student center for any student card forms. You can also get one from your checking account bank, most bank's offer them. You must be going to college though, because they feel that students are less liable because they have a steady future in front of them, but they will have to accept your form, and ussually the starting limit is $500.

If you do not go to college or you were not accepted, there are still choices for you. You can sign up for a secured credit card. A secured credit card is a card where you put about $300-$1000 into your card, and for about 9 monthes, they keep your money for you, and you use the card with your own money. And they moniter how you pay the credit card bills, and after the 9 monthes, you will be able to upgrade your card to a normal card, and get all your money back. This is good also to repair your credit score.

And lastly, if those do not work, try signing up with those credit card companys like capital one. There are several companies like Capital One where you are able to sign up to cards with no credit history, about a $1000 spending limit, these cards you will have to pay a higher interest and some extra fees, so they have a low risk of signing new credit card users. This is how I was able to get my first credit card. You can do it online and pick the most simplest card, and they say after a year or so, you will be able to upgrade your cards to a better one, you just have to build your credit score.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can do all these things over the internet, so just look around at different sites, and your choices.

    • When you sign up for Capitol One, be careful, somehow, they get you to sign up for their credit monitoring service, and it deducts $9 a month from your credit card. So, I would try to aviod there Credit Inform Service.
