ATT Uverse Residential Gateway

I recently tried to connect a computer to our Uverse Residential Gateway (modem) which has an integral wireless home network system. After installing the driver for the wireless adapter on the computer, it asked for an "Encryption Key". I had no idea what it was, so a long and tedious call to Uverse support provided the answer. They are very good at helping but I always have to go through 3-4 persons before getting someone to help. They call it a "Wireless Network Key", so looking for an encryption key on their website was futile. I hope this will save you some frustration!

Instructions

    • 1

Install the wireless adapter and load the disc on your computer. (I used a Belkin wireless adapter).

    • 2
      Encryption or Wireless Network Key

The "Encryption Key" is the "Wireless Network Key" located on the back of the Residential Gateway on a tag with the System Password and MAC address.

Type in this Key # when prompted and it should work fine. Good Luck!
