How to Clear Personal Information From a Palm Tungsten T3
When it is time to move on from an electronic device, one critical step is to clear all of your personal information to prevent identity theft. Palm is aware of this and has built in a method to securely erase all personal information from the Palm Tungsten T3. With a few simple steps you can erase your personal information from the hand-held before having the device recycled.

Open your Palm Tungsten T3 by sliding the bottom section away from the screen.

Locate the reset button on the back of the hand-held. It will be a small circular hole near the center of the hand-held, revealed when you slide the bottom section away from the screen.

Press the power button on the top panel of the Tungsten hand-held. Keep the power button held down.

While holding down the power button, gently press and release the reset button using the tip of your stylus or an unfolded paper clip.

Release the power button when the Palm Powered logo appears.

A message will appear on the screen informing you that you will erase all of the data on your Tungsten hand-held. Press Up on the Navigator. This performs a hard reset, erasing all data.
When the Digitizer screen appears, your data has been erased and your Palm Tungsten T3 has been restored to factory settings. Time and date are not affected, however.

Tips & Warnings
Pressing any other button besides Up on the Navigator will perform a soft reset, and your data will not be erased.
To restore your data after a hard reset, you can choose to perform a custom HotSync with your computer, allowing the computer to overwrite the hand-held.
